Payment and Refund Policy

Last updated: 03 November 2026

Scope of the Policy and the Products or Services It Covers

This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all bookings and purchases made through shineupo for specialised courses in live production decks and control rooms. These include training on multi-camera switching, live broadcasting techniques, real-time video operation, and professional management of television and streaming productions. The policy covers both in-person and online delivery formats where payment is processed via the website. It does not extend to third-party services or products purchased separately from course providers.

Prices, Currencies, Taxes, and Any Additional Charges

All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include value added tax at the prevailing UK rate unless otherwise stated. Course fees cover tuition materials and access to practical sessions. Additional charges may apply for optional extras such as certification exams or extended access to recorded content. Any such extras are clearly indicated at the point of booking. Prices are subject to change but the amount confirmed at the time of booking remains fixed for that transaction.

Accepted Payment Methods, Payment Authorisation, and Payment Security

We accept major credit and debit cards, bank transfers, and approved digital wallets. All payments are authorised at the time of booking. Transactions are processed through secure third-party gateways that comply with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards. shineupo does not store full card details. Authorisation confirms sufficient funds and may result in a temporary hold on your account until the transaction completes.

Order, Booking, or Service Confirmation and When a Contract Is Formed

Upon successful payment you will receive an email confirmation containing booking details, access instructions, and a unique reference number. A binding contract is formed when we send this confirmation. Until that point either party may cancel without liability. For courses beginning within 14 days, you expressly agree that delivery may start immediately upon confirmation, affecting standard cancellation rights.

Cancellation Rights and Applicable Cancellation Periods

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have 14 calendar days from the date of booking to cancel without giving a reason. This period begins once we confirm your order. If the course starts during this period you may still cancel but refunds will be adjusted for any services already provided. Cancellations must be submitted in writing via the contact details below.

Refund Eligibility, Exclusions, and Non-Refundable Items or Services

Refunds are available for cancellations within the 14-day period provided no substantial portion of the course has been accessed or attended. Non-refundable items include any downloadable materials already supplied, certification fees paid to external bodies, and any promotional discounts applied. If you have started consuming digital content such as recorded sessions, the right to a full refund is lost under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.

The Step-by-Step Procedure and Information Required to Request a Refund

To request a refund contact us at [email protected] or 01494 671234 with your booking reference, full name, and reason for cancellation. You may also write to Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG. Include proof of payment if requested. We will acknowledge receipt within two working days and guide you through any further information needed such as bank details for processing.

Inspection, Approval, Rejection, and Notification of the Refund Decision

Our team reviews each request within five working days. We assess whether the cancellation falls within the eligible period and whether any exclusions apply. You will be notified by email of approval or rejection with a clear explanation. If rejected you may provide additional evidence for reconsideration within seven days.

Refund Method, Processing Time, and When Funds Should Reach the Customer

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 14 days of approval. Bank transfers may take up to five additional working days depending on your provider. Credit card refunds appear on your statement within one to two billing cycles. We will send confirmation once the refund has been issued.

Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions, Services, or Promotional Offers Where Relevant

Many courses include immediate access to digital recordings and live streams. Once you begin viewing or downloading such content the cooling-off period ends. Subscription-style access to ongoing modules follows the same rules. Promotional offers are non-refundable after use and any free add-ons are forfeited upon cancellation of the main booking.

Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks, and Suspected Fraud

If a payment fails we will notify you and allow 48 hours to provide alternative details. Duplicate charges are investigated and corrected within seven days upon notification. Chargebacks must be raised through your card issuer but we ask that you contact us first at [email protected] to resolve the issue. Suspected fraudulent activity leads to immediate account suspension and reporting to relevant authorities.

Mandatory Consumer Rights in the Target Country That the Policy Cannot Exclude

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, or UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. These rights include the right to receive services with reasonable care and skill and to remedies for faulty performance. We cannot exclude liability for personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
