About us

We train the people behind the live picture

shineupo is a UK course provider specialising in live production decks and control rooms. We help new and working crews master multi-camera switching, live broadcasting techniques and the management of television and streaming productions.

Our story

Built by gallery crews, for gallery crews

shineupo began when a group of directors, vision mixers and technical producers noticed the same gap: plenty of theory about television, but very little time on a real desk before the first live job.

We built courses around the gallery itself. You sit at the switcher, call shots over talkback, run graphics and replays, and keep a show to time. By the end of a programme you have done the job, not just heard about it.

How we teach

Four principles behind every course

  • Real kit, real pressure

We train on professional switchers, cameras, audio desks and graphics systems, with live runs that feel like a transmission day.

  • Small crews

Groups are kept small so every learner takes every seat in the gallery, from vision mixing to producing.

  • Calm under pressure

Live television rewards clear talkback and steady nerves. We teach both, and we rehearse the moments when things go wrong.

  • Pathways into work

Every learner leaves with a recorded show, tutor feedback and practical advice on where to go next.
